A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 3, for longtime staff member Kathleen Dowdell.
The service will be held at St. Joseph Parish (32946 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake) at 10 a.m.
Before her retirement last year, Dowdell was a department administrator in the Department of Anthropology and a committed member of the Staff Advisory Council. She started working at Case Western Reserve in 1999 and joined the Staff Advisory Council that year. Through the council, she voluntarily served or was elected to a number of committees and advocated for professional development at the university.
In 2015, Dowdell was honored for her dedication with the Robin Kramer Staff Advisory Council Volunteer Award.
