Medicine’s Jonathan Lass discusses research on corneal donation preservation time

Jonathan Lass, professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences, discussed his research on how preservation time of donated corneas could be extended.

They made a recommendation that eye banks could keep cornea tissues up to 11 days, four days longer than the previously suggested time period.

He discussed the findings while at the 2017 American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in New Orleans in November.

Listen to him explain the research.
