“Know Your Rights: A Critical Panel Discussion on Race, Law, and Justice”

The Zeta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority will host “Know Your Rights: A Critical Panel Discussion on Race, Law, and Justice” today (March 27) from 7 to 9 p.m. in Thwing Center, Room 201.

The event will engage police officers, attorneys and other law enforcement and legal actors, as well as attendees, in a discussion on how race can have a profound effect on the enforcement of law and the administration of justice.

The panel will address some of the most pressing issues in our community, including asserting basic rights inside and outside of the courtroom, minority distrust of law enforcement and other legal actors, and racial disparities in the justice system.

Light refreshments will be provided.
