Join maker movement during National Week of Making, June 12-18

Following last year’s inaugural National Day of Making, the White House has announced a National Week of Making, June 12-18, that will highlight maker communities across the country and include a two-day National Maker Faire June 12-13.

Case Western Reserve is working closely with the event organizers at the national and regional levels, helping to organize maker activities throughout the week and working with regional organizers to support maker culture.

The university will participate in the Northeast Ohio Hour of Making on June 13 at 2 p.m., and think[ box ] will run daily tours of the facility throughout the week.

At think[ box ], participants will have the opportunity to learn to solder by building their own electromyography kit—a device that measures the electrical signals produced by muscles. The event is free and open to the public of all ages—no reservations required.

More than 30 maker-oriented events are taking place across Northeast Ohio during the Hour of Making. Follow the events of the day on social media at #neomakers.
