Give Kelvin Smith Library more color: Submit art to be displayed on first floor columns

Kelvin Smith Library’s first floor needs some color—and library personnel want your help adding it. The Create a Column competition, designed to build a more welcoming, dynamic environment, is open to all Case Western Reserve University students, faculty and staff, and students from the Cleveland Institute of Art.

The first floor is divided into zones that encourage specific activities, such as collaboration, technology and leisure, each with columns in a variety of sizes. Art submitted through the Create a Column competition should use the column shapes and sizes guidelines, and may work upon the specific themes, or take a different direction, like the Cleveland community or University Circle.

Submissions are juried and cash prizes will be awarded to winners. You may submit as many pieces as you’d like; however, each artist will be eligible to receive only one reward. The deadline for entries is March 31 at 5 p.m.
