Friday’s staff appreciation event offers prizes, performances and more

The “Thank Beyond the Possible” event this Friday is shaping up to include a whole lot of appreciation for staff.

Scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, March 2, in the Smith Commons of the Tinkham Veale University Center, the celebration of Case Western Reserve staff will include opportunities to win airline tickets, Amazon Echo Dots and a three-month membership to One to One Fitness, among other prizes.

In addition, the Spartan Dance Team will perform at 1:30 p.m., and the Case Men’s Glee Club will serenade the crowd at 2:30 p.m. President Barbara R. Snyder will express her gratitude to staff at 2 p.m., while other senior leaders will speak throughout the afternoon.

“We have been overwhelmed by the number of people eager to contribute prizes, talents and time to this event,” Vice President for Human Resources Carolyn Gregory said. Several offices are donating Case Western Reserve clothing and other gear, while others are supplying gift baskets, a pair of Indians club seat tickets and pieces of artwork. “The response is a testament to the community’s recognition of the value and importance of staff.”

Those employees whose shifts do not overlap with the hours of the celebration, but would like to participate in a raffle for prizes can enter online at goo.gl/forms/e8awDxbe4znlSTD53. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m., Thursday, March 1, for to be included in the raffle.

In addition to the raffle and student performances, the event also will feature opportunities for staff to learn more about such human resources offerings as university benefits, wellness programs and professional development opportunities. Other offices, including the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity, also will be present.

The university encourages all supervisors to work to coordinate schedules so that each interested employee has the opportunity to attend the event at some point that afternoon.
