The filer.case.edu server, a free storage system created by a student technology group in the Case School of Engineering in 2006, will be decommissioned at Case Western Reserve University Friday, June 30.
No new accounts have been created on Filer since 2014, and CWRU can no longer properly maintain or support the system. There are many alternatives, such as Box, Google Drive and OrgSync, available to users still using Filer, either as a storage option or for hosting a website.
University Technology ([U]Tech) has made arrangements for all the data within the Filer system to be archived for possible future use. However, after Friday, June 30, that data will no longer be accessible through Filer.
