Faculty member Linda Ehrlich to coordinate series of rare Japanese cinema next fall

 

Linda EhrlichLinda Ehrlich, associate professor of Japanese and director of the College Scholars Program, has been selected to coordinate a series of rarely seen masterpieces of Japanese cinema next fall in collaboration with the Cleveland Cinematheque.

The series, timed to coincide with the opening of new galleries for Japanese art at the Cleveland Museum of Art, will include rare films by Kenji Mizoguchi, Heinosuke Gosho, Teinosuke Kinugasa and Sadao Yamanaka.

Case Western Reserve University received a $3,500 grant from the Japan Foundation to support the series.
