Dance Marathon kicks off Nov. 12 at 2 p.m., raising money for children with cancer

On Nov. 12, Case Western Reserve University will host “Miracles in Motion,” a Dance Marathon to raise money for children battling cancer at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

Presented by the new student organization Dance Marathon at CWRU (DM-CWRU), the event will be a 12-hour marathon in which students can dance as well as participate in various game and activities. Activities include performances from student groups, themed music hours, contests, a moon bounce, games at the top of every half hour, and craft tables for the children. Several student organizations will have their own booths with activities throughout the night.

This is a free event, but attendees can donate money at the door for admission or form their own team of four or more members. The event’s goal is to raise more than $5000 to add on to a fund that DM-CWRU will continue to build. The funds will help families with children fighting cancer at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital cover the costs of pediatric cancer care.

Dance Marathon will be held from 2 p.m. Nov. 12 to 2 a.m. Nov. 13 in the Veale Athletic Center.
