CWRU mourns passing of grounds crew member Anthony Furlan

Services for Case Western Reserve grounds crew member Anthony Furlan will be held today (May 31) at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Parish (at the corner of E. 200th Street and Lakeshore Boulevard, Euclid).

Furlan, who joined the university in 2001, died last Wednesday. He was 51.

Before his passing, he worked alongside his brother-in-law, Peter Yanosko, in Facilities Services.

Yanosko remembered Furlan for his upbeat nature and described him as “outgoing and full of life.”

Case Western Reserve Grounds Supervisor Daryl Costanzo remembered Furlan as a good, hard-working member of the staff.

“He was fun-loving and very peaceful. He loved his guitars,” Costanzo said. “He was dedicated to keeping the campus beautiful.”

Furlan is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sharon, and his daughters, Antonia and Mary.
