CWRU astronomers discover dwarf galaxy, possible protogalaxy

Nearby dwarf galaxy and possible protogalaxy found

Science Daily: Astronomers have found a faint dwarf galaxy and another possible young dwarf that was caught before it formed any stars. “Compared to what is seen in the Hubble Space Telescope image, the galaxy’s disk is much larger and we can see very large, faint plumes of stars and streamers of gas in its outskirts,” said astronomy professor Chris Mihos.
