Construction on Cedar Avenue to affect drivers near campus

Construction on Phase Two of the Cedar Avenue Reconstruction Project—from East 89th Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive—began Tuesday. As a result, all westbound traffic on Cedar Avenue is being detoured to Carnegie Avenue. One eastbound lane of traffic will be maintained along Cedar Avenue between East 89th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

During construction, on-street parking will be prohibited. Building and service entrances will be maintained.

The 1.3 mile rehabilitation project will include full-width reconstruction, a new 12-inch water line, new curbs, new sidewalks, new driveways, the replacement of existing catch basins and ADA compliant ramps at all non-compliant locations.
