Commencement registration opens tomorrow; doctoral fitting on Thursday

Mark your calendar for Commencement 2017: Sunday, May 21.

The registration process to attend commencement will open tomorrow, Wednesday, March 1. All graduating students must sign up online to indicate if they plan to participate in the commencement ceremonies. Commencement registration is a separate process from the SIS application for graduation. Commencement registration is used to indicate attendance at the university-wide convocation and at school-specific diploma ceremonies, and to inform the University Bookstore about cap and gown orders.

Registration is open from March 1 to April 1. You must have a valid CWRU Network ID and password to sign up. Graduating students can sign up online beginning March 1 at case.edu/commencement, or at one of the events listed below.

Doctoral Fittings

Doctoral fittings are events open to all professional and doctoral students (MD, DMD, DMA, PhD, DNP, DM, JD and SJD graduates).  At the doctoral fittings, professional and doctoral degree candidates can register to participate in commencement ceremonies and have their regalia measurements taken.

They will be held:

  • Thursday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the School of Law, Gund Hall, Student Lounge (upper level); and
  • Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tinkham Veale University Center, Smith Commons (main floor).

Grad Fair

Any student can visit Grad Fair to take care of their graduation planning and celebration needs, purchase their cap and gown, and sign up to participate in commencement ceremonies. All students earning bachelor’s or master’s degrees are encouraged to attend Grad Fair to purchase their cap and gown.

The event will be held Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the University Bookstore (upper level).

At all events, representatives from the university bookstore and the commencement office will be on hand to assist students with academic regalia measurements, commencement participation sign-up and graduation celebration needs.
