Cold-read audition for spoken-word performance

The planning committee for the upcoming Ellipsis Conference will hold an open call for auditions March 1 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Thwing Center’s Cleveland Room.

Those who identify as women of color are encouraged to audition.

The committee is looking for students who can bring a spoken-word presentation to life. The five-minute piece focuses on womanhood, intersectionality and reclamation of power. It will be performed April 12 by five or six individuals, depending on the results of the audition process. They also are looking for a few individuals who specialize in different forms of dance.

Email Heather Burton at heather.burton@case.edu if you are interested in participating but cannot attend the audition.

The Ellipsis Institute for Women of Color is a multi-day conference that aims to provide connections and relationships that build a support network for women, thus further enabling them to navigate barriers to access and continue the journey toward gender equity. Students, staff and faculty who are women of color are invited to build relationships across lines of difference in a unified pursuit of advocacy efforts for all women, in all roles.

This event is sponsored by the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women.
