YeongAe Heo, assistant professor of civil engineering, was selected for the American Society of Civil Engineers Structural Engineering Institute Codes and Standards Activities Division committee’s Young Professional member. She will serve on the ASCE7-22 Subcommittee on Tsunami Loads and Effects.
The committee will develop and update provisions for tsunami loads and effects. Their work will help inform the design of critical infrastructures to withstand tsunami load effects.
Heo is also a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Gulf Research Program Early-Career Research Fellow.
