Career Center earns silver status in OUT for Work’s certification program

The Career Center achieved silver status in OUT for Work’s 2012 Career Center Certification Program, an upgrade from the bronze level last year.

In the last year, the Career Center added programs, resources and services highlighting issues particular to students who identify as LGBTQ.

Working closely with university career centers, OUT for Work provides academic institutions and students with an evaluation of the support available to LGBTQ students facing employment and workplace challenges. OUT for Work functions as a complimentary component in the total educational experience of LGBTQ students, primarily in the development, evaluation, initiation, and implementation of career plans and opportunities.

Other university career centers achieving silver status include Cornell, Georgetown, Michigan State, Stanford, Delaware, Maryland and the University of Miami.
