Blackboard Learn to be unavailable for 12 hours

Blackboard Learn will be unavailable for 12 hours from Friday, June 2, at 10 p.m. to Saturday, June 3, at 10 a.m. During this time, technicians will perform a significant upgrade. Instructors are advised to take this window of unavailability into account when administering any courses using Blackboard. This upgrade is part of Blackboard Learn’s regularly scheduled maintenance and will provide instructors and students with a more stable system.

All course content and materials will be available after the upgrade and the overall functionality of Blackboard Learn will not change. This upgrade will ensure that Blackboard is stable as the university continues to move from Blackboard to Canvas. As of August, Case Western Reserve University will have completed its yearlong transition to Canvas. Blackboard will remain available until June 2018 as an archival and reference application, but it will no longer be available for creating and teaching courses beginning with the fall 2017 term.

Contact the Canvas to the support team at canvashelp@case.edu with all questions relating to Canvas.
