Art historian Elina Gertsman presents in Europe on medieval art

Elina Gertsman, assistant professor of medieval art, traveled around Europe this Elina Gertsmansummer and fall, giving invited talks at various international conferences.

In June, she was a keynote speaker at the Gender Studies Network annual conference in Helsinki; in July, she spoke in the session on spectacle, held at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds and sponsored by the International Center for Medieval Art; and in September, she was invited to speak in Berlin at a conference dedicated to the Dance of Death imagery, the topic of her recent book. While in Germany, she also spoke at the “Forum Kunst des Mittelalters,” held in Halberstadt.
