“Are You Afraid?”

The Jack Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will host “Are You Afraid?” today (Nov. 30) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the school’s Noble Commons.

“Are You Afraid?” is a sustained dialogue discussion that will focus on race and policing as it pertains to Case Western Reserve University and University Circle. The event is supported by Collective Action Towards Social Justice.

The event will be led by:

  • Adrianne Fletcher, assistant professor in the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences;
  • Dawn Ellis, department assistant at the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities; and
  • Leo Ndiaye, an undergraduate student studying environmental studies.

The question “Are You Afraid?” is inclusive of a variety of perspectives from those who fear interaction with police, to those who fear interaction with community members. Join the discussion to express your views, share experiences, ask questions and contribute to a discussion of change on this critical issue.

Registration is available online.
