Anthropology’s Vanessa M. Hildebrand co-authors book

Vanessa M. Hildebrand, assistant professor of anthropology, co-wrote a book titled Health, Culture, and Society: Conceptual Legacies and Contemporary Applications.

This book traces the history of formative, enduring concepts that are foundational in the development of the health disciplines and their subsequent application in both contemporary studies of health and policy. Feminist legacies are explored, clearly presenting how early sociological and anthropological theories remain valuable to scholars today.

Hildebrand’s co-authors—anthropologists and sociologists at other universities—are Elizabeth Ettorre, Ellen Annandale and Ana Porroche-Escudero.
