The journal Academy of Management Perspectives named Scott Shane, the A. Malachi Mixon III Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, as the 47th most influential scholar in the field of management. The study looked at number of citations, which is one of the strongest measures of impact inside the academy, as well as number of Google pages residing on non-.edu domains, which would measure the impact on stakeholders outside of the academy.
On the list of influential scholars who received their degrees since 1991, Shane ranked No. 14 based on “impact inside and outside of the academy.”
