21st Century Learner Symposium: “Focus on Canvas”

University Technology (UTech) will host the “21st Century Learner Symposium,” a three-part series exploring how to prepare Case Western Reserve University for the “learners of the future.”

The first session, titled “Focus on Canvas,” will be held Tuesday, March 21, from noon to 2:30 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom.

The event will be composed of two parts: a Canvas Early Adopter Panel and the Technology Trek.

Canvas Early Adopter Panel

The Canvas Early Adopter Panel, for faculty and staff only, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Attendees will hear from early faculty adopters of Canvas, who discuss their experiences with the learning management system.

Lunch will be provided.

To RSVP for the panel discussion, email Rachel Anderson at rea54@case.edu.

Technology Trek

The Technology Trek, for faculty, staff and students, will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

During this portion of the event, attendees can get hands-on with Canvas and explore how it can simplify and improve their interactions with students and professors outside of class. Members of the Teaching + Learning

Technologies team and faculty ambassadors will be on hand to talk more about the transition to Canvas.

The “21st Century Learner Symposium” will continue with sessions held:

  • Tuesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to noon in Thwing Center ballroom; and
  • Friday, May 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Nord Hall, Room 356.
